English Abstract: Q methodology is used to reveal similarities and differences of individual viewpoints from the subjective point of view (Brown 1980; Watts & Stenner 2005a). It combines the strong aspects of qualitative and quantitative approaches which gives the researcher the opportunity to assess subject matter in a holistic way (Watts & Stenner, 2012). The aim of this review is to introduce Q methodology, a research method and approach used in a variety of fields such as psychology, health, political science and tourism, to the Turkish scientific literature. It consists of two parts. In the first part, the historical and theoretical background of Q methodology is explained by presenting the formation process of Q as a methodology, by introducing core Q methodology concepts, and through the relationship of Q methodology with the social constructivism. In the second part, the application of Q methodology is described in a stepwise manner, namely, a) generation of Q statements, b) application process, and c) analysis and interpretation.
