Abstract: In recent years, even though there was strong growth in the number of e-courseware for primary schools, teachers did not pay attention and use them as expected. Given the important role that teachers can play in choosing and using an e-courseware, there is a critical need to investigate what teachers expect from an e-courseware before developing it in order that this e-courseware will not be neglected by teachers. The aim of this study is to identify and distinguish different needs of primary school teachers with regard to e-courseware that are used to support the teaching process. To identify these needs, the study used Q-methodology, a qualitative method that applies quantitative techniques. This study found four distinct factors that deputized the teachers’ needs: Meet daily needs, Simple and convenient to use, Abundance and flexibility of data, High interoperability. The existence of four factors has implications for the development of different types of e-courseware for primary schools in Vietnam, as well as in countries with the same situation of developing and using e-courseware as Vietnam.
