In addition to the stimulating papers and panels that were offered at the Q Conference in Pittsburgh, there were also some  special events.

Workshops

Two pre-conference Q Workshops were held the afternoon of Wednesday, September 5th at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Sue Ramlo offered the “Introduction to Q Methodology” workshop from 1-2:30pm. This workshop was designed to acquaint Q novices to the various steps in conducting a successful Q study. Dr. Diane Montgomery and Dr. Charles Mauldin led the “Advanced Q Workshop” from 3:00-4:30pm and focused their workshop on factor interpretation.

Welcoming Reception

The welcoming reception was held at the Hard Rock Café (a short – 1 minute) walk from the Sheraton on Wednesday, September 5th from 6-7:30pm.

Special Presentation

Dr. Tim Cuff, Associate Professor of History, Westminster College made a presentation on Thursday, September 6th at 1:30pm on the history of Pittsburgh and the Western Pennsylvania region.

Banquet

The ISSSS Banquet was held in the Waterfront Room at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel on Friday evening, September 7th.

Excursion

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball game. The game was played Saturday, September 8th at 7pm at beautiful PNC Park. Fireworks followed the game.
