Abstract: The purpose of this research is to analyze preference for physical activity of children with developmental disability and their characteristics. To attain the goal, first, the researcher had classify adapted physical activities developed with picture cards to explore the types of adapted physical activities preferred. Seconds, applied Q-Methodology. Subjects for this study consisted of 28 criteria through purposive sampling from six- to twelve-year-old disabled children living in C City and attending a kindergarten, special-education school, or general school’s special class. The picture card used in Q sort was 24 physical activities. The result of Q-sorting were coded and analysed using QUANL pc program. According to the research result, Firstly, the preference types of physical activities of children with developmental disability revealed to be four types(The eigen values of the four types of attitudes are 5.7, 4.2, 2.2, and 1.5). Secondly, the characteristics for each four types were determined to be the type preferring peer-centered activity(type 1), the type preferring tool-centered activity(type 2), the type preferring self-centered activity(type 3) and the type preferring competition-centered activity(type 4). Such results of the research suggest that children with developmental disability have subjectivity for physical activity and there can be a variety of types based on the background factors.
